Placenta Encapsulation: Steamed
Based on The Traditional Chinese Medicine Method
The TCM (steamed) method of encapsulation is most common. Human placenta has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine. For postpartum women it was used to alleviate fatigue, correct hormonal imbalances and to help lactation.

Services
In Chinese Medicine, the process of birth is considered to be a "cold" process and the TCM method of preparing the placenta is a "warming" process with the resulting capsules believed to help re-balance the new mother's system (yin/yang theory). It is believed that the potency of the pills is not affected by the steaming process.
If you plan to save some of your placenta pills for later use, they can be kept in a ziplock bag and in an airtight container in the freezer. These capsules can be used later in life; for example to help reduce the symptoms of menopause in later years!

Placenta Tincture
Placenta tincture is an added bonus in that it can be used in addition to and long after the capsules are gone. By tincturing a small piece of the placenta in a high grade alcohol, you can prolong the benefits of your placental hormones. The tincture can be used in any time of trauma, transition, emotional distress and during menopause and ease your symptoms.
Raw frozen pills
This is an option that you can combine with the TCM method. It is a process of cutting small pieces of raw placenta shortly after birth, laying them separately on foil and freezing them immediately to maintain freshness. The mother can then take one small piece once or twice a day. This can be a good option if you would like to begin with your placenta therapy whilst your dehydrated capsules are being made. Of course, as with any frozen food, these pieces do have a limited lifespan.

Placenta Prints
Similar to watercolor prints. They are beautiful keepsakes of “The Tree of Life” that sustained your baby during pregnancy.
All prints are safely archived on acid-free artists paper and sealed with artists lacquer, and can be printed with the placenta's natural "ink" or with a combination of fruit, vegetable or spice pastes which are then thoroughly washed from the placenta before the encapsulation process.
Umbilical Cord Keepsakes
Like placentas, every umbilical cord is unique! They come in many different lengths and widths and some are cut more than once during the birthing process (e.g. in caesarean section births). Therefore each keepsake is unique and can be shaped into either a spiral, heart shape or baby's first initial.

Vial Keepsake
Another unique keepsake! Metal vial containing a small amount of the dehydrated placenta or umbilical cord powder.
Umbilical cord ties
All ties are made from 100% embroidery silks and sterilisation info will be included with the cord ties. You can order specifics if you want a different animal, colour or design.
The cost is $10 for the heart ties, $15 for animals or double ended ties and $2 postage.
Please email Heather Witts who will handmake these for you to order:
